Lighting is one of the most important safety systems on any working truck. From headlights and tail lamps to marker lights, fog lamps and interior lighting, every unit helps the driver see the road, be seen by other road users and stay compliant with regulations. In this category you’ll find tested used OEM truck lighting components removed from late-model European vehicles in our UK breaker yard and listed with clear photos and honest descriptions.

What truck lighting parts we stock

Stock in the Lighting category changes as we dismantle more donor trucks, but typical items include:

  • headlights and driving lamps for night-time visibility on A-roads and motorways (see the dedicated Headlights section);
  • reverse and tail lights, combined rear lamp units and indicator lamps, grouped under Reverse & Tail Lights;
  • fog lights to improve visibility in fog, snow and heavy rain, listed in Fog Lights;
  • clearance and marker lights on cab and trailer sides to show the length and height of the vehicle, covered by Clearance & Marker Lights;
  • interior lights and cab reading lamps to keep the driver’s working and resting areas usable at night, in the Interior Lights sub-category;
  • light covers, bezels and surrounds to finish repairs neatly and protect the lamp bodies, listed in Light Covers;
  • other specialist lamps and brackets under Other Lighting, and electrical looms, plugs and fuses in Wiring & Fuses.

Each listing shows the actual light or wiring component you will receive, with close-up photos of lenses, housings, connectors and mounting points so you can compare it to the parts on your own truck or trailer.

Truck brands & typical applications

Most lighting components we stock come from mainstream European heavy trucks such as Volvo FH/FM, MAN TGX/TGS, DAF XF/XG, Scania R/S and Mercedes-Benz Actros, Arocs and Atego. VRA Truckparts focuses on modern Euro 5–Euro 6 vehicles sourced in the UK and dismantled at our yard in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex, supplying tested used OEM parts across engines, electronics, body panels and lighting for these platforms.

Typical applications include long-haul tractor units, tippers and mixers operating on construction sites, plant and machinery transporters, drawbar combinations and recovery trucks. Whether you are replacing a damaged headlamp after an impact, chasing an electrical fault in the rear lights or upgrading marker lighting on a trailer, this section is designed to help you source genuine OEM units instead of guessing with unknown aftermarket lamps.

Tested used OEM lighting from dismantled trucks

Before any lighting component is put onto the shelf, it is removed carefully as part of our structured dismantling process. Lamp housings are checked for cracks, broken tabs and water ingress; lenses are inspected for heavy scratches and discolouration; connectors and wiring are checked for corrosion and damaged pins. Where practical, lights are function-tested on the vehicle or a suitable bench set-up to confirm that low beam, high beam, indicators, brake, tail and fog functions work correctly. Items that do not meet our standards are stripped for parts rather than listed for sale.

Because we dismantle each donor truck ourselves, we can usually provide OEM part numbers, manufacturer branding (such as Hella or other OE suppliers) and donor vehicle details alongside the photos. This information helps workshops and fleet operators match like-for-like units, maintain legal lighting performance and avoid issues with CAN-bus errors or bulb failure monitoring systems when replacing lights.

Shipping, returns and checking compatibility

Lights and wiring components are packed carefully to protect lenses, housings and plugs in transit and are shipped quickly from our Essex yard with tracked delivery options across the UK and EU. Most orders come with a 30-day returns period so you can fit and test the part on the vehicle with confidence.

If you are unsure whether a particular headlamp, rear lamp unit or marker light will fit your truck or trailer, contact VRA Truckparts with your registration, VIN and photos of your existing lamp and connectors. Our team will help you confirm compatibility or suggest alternatives within the Lighting range. You can also browse the Trucks We Dismantle page to see the donor vehicles your lighting parts come from and source other matching components from the same trucks.
