Brakes are one of the most safety-critical systems on any heavy truck. Worn or damaged components can lead to longer stopping distances, uneven braking and expensive downtime. In this category you’ll find tested used OEM truck brake parts removed from late-model European vehicles in our UK breaker yard and listed with clear photos and honest descriptions, so you can replace failed components with confidence.

What truck brake parts we stock

Stock in the Brakes & Brake Parts category changes as we dismantle more donor trucks, but typical items include:

  • brake calipers, carriers and slide pins for disc brake axles;
  • brake discs and drums for steer, drive and trailer axles;
  • brake chambers, spring brake actuators and related hardware for air brake systems;
  • brake valves, load-sensing valves, relay valves and foot brake valves, often grouped with other pneumatic components;
  • brake hose connectors and fittings listed under Brake Hose Connectors;
  • ABS and brake wear sensors, switches and wiring looms in the Brake Sensors & Switches section;
  • parking brake levers, mechanisms and associated cables in Parking Brakes;
  • brake lines, hoses and fittings for air and hydraulic circuits, grouped under Brake Lines, Hoses & Fittings.

Each listing shows the actual brake component you will receive, with close-up photos of mounting points, ports, threads and OEM labels so you can compare it to the parts fitted on your own truck before ordering.

Truck brands & typical applications

Most of the brake parts we supply come from modern European heavy trucks such as Volvo FH/FM, MAN TGX/TGS, DAF XF/XG, Scania R/S and Mercedes-Benz Actros, Arocs and Atego. VRA Truckparts focuses on Euro 5–Euro 6 vehicles sourced in the UK and dismantled on site in Essex, providing tested used OEM spares for these platforms across engines, transmissions, braking systems and chassis components.

Typical applications include long-haul tractor units, rigid chassis, construction tippers, mixers, plant and machinery transporters, drawbar combinations and recovery trucks. Whether you need to replace a seized brake caliper, leaking chamber, cracked disc or damaged brake pipe, this category is the starting point for sourcing the correct OEM parts without paying dealer list prices.

Tested used OEM brake components from dismantled trucks

Before any brake component is added to stock, it is removed carefully as part of our structured dismantling process. Calipers and chambers are checked for obvious leaks, damaged threads and broken brackets; discs and drums are inspected for heavy scoring, cracks and excessive lip wear; valves and air components are examined for damage around ports and mounting faces. Only parts that pass our visual and basic functional checks are listed for sale – items that do not meet our standards are separated for cores rather than shipped to customers.

Because all parts come directly from trucks we dismantle ourselves, we can usually provide donor information such as make, model, axle configuration and brake type, together with OEM part numbers and cross-references. This transparency, combined with detailed photos, helps workshops and fleet operators match the correct brake components to existing axles and braking systems, and reduces the risk of ordering the wrong part.

Shipping, returns and checking compatibility

Brake components are heavy and often bulky, so they are packed carefully and, where necessary, palletised for safe transport. Orders are dispatched quickly from our yard in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex, with tracked delivery options across the UK and EU, and most items include a 30-day returns period so you can fit and test them on the vehicle with confidence.

If you are unsure whether a particular caliper, chamber, valve or brake hose assembly will fit your truck, contact VRA Truckparts with your registration, VIN and photos or part numbers from your existing parts. Our team will help you confirm compatibility or suggest suitable alternatives within the Brakes & Brake Parts range. You can also browse the Trucks We Dismantle page to see the donor vehicles your brake components come from and to source other matching parts from the same trucks.
