Genuine Mercedes‑Benz / ZF Lenksysteme (ZFLS) hydraulic power steering gear box complete with forged pitman arm casting number 21243270, made in Germany. This unit is used on Mercedes Actros MP2/MP3, Axor and selected Atego models equipped with LS8/ZFLS steering gears.

The steering gear converts steering wheel input into controlled movement of the front axle linkage, providing precise steering and hydraulic power assistance for heavy commercial vehicles. The robust cast iron housing and forged arm are designed for long service life in demanding truck and tractor‑unit applications.

The unit offered here was removed from a running vehicle and the steering assistance was confirmed before dismantling. After removal the box was externally cleaned, visually inspected and bench‑checked for free movement from lock to lock with no tight spots. The pitman arm and sector shaft splines are in good condition. There are typical signs of previous use: paint wear, surface rust on fasteners and arm eye, and minor marks to the casing from handling.

Compatibility is primarily with Mercedes‑Benz Actros MP2/MP3 tractors and rigids, Axor and early Atego models using LS8 / ZFLS steering gears and OEM references such as A9304601800, A9304602300, A9304602500 and related supersessions. Please match your existing steering gear numbers, casting style and arm configuration before purchase, or consult your parts department with the OE references.

Professional installation is strongly recommended. After fitting, the steering system must be filled with the correct hydraulic oil, bled, and the front axle geometry and steering wheel position checked and adjusted. If replacing a different steering gear version, additional set‑up or calibration work may be required.

The item is supplied as pictured: complete steering gear box with mounted pitman arm 21243270 only. Pipes, mounting brackets and other accessories are not included. The part was tested for basic function before dismantling but, as with all used hydraulic components, we recommend replacing external seals and flushing the system during installation for best reliability.
