FAQ – Trade & Fleet Customers

This FAQ is for workshops, fleets and trade buyers who want to work with VRA Truckparts on regular or higher-volume terms – including discounts, personal account support and special orders.

Many of the questions we receive relate to specific systems – for example Brakes & Brake Parts, Suspension & Steering, Engines & Components + Engine Cooling + Air Intake & Fuel Delivery or Lighting + Instruments, Dials & Gauges + Ignition, Charging & Starting. Wherever helpful, our answers link directly to the relevant Lorry/Truck Parts categories so you can jump straight to the parts you need.

Our trade & fleet programme is designed for professional buyers: independent truck and trailer workshops, fleet operators, bodyshops and coachbuilders working on heavy vehicles, and truck dismantlers, dealers and parts resellers. If you buy regularly or in larger volumes, we want to work with you as a long-term partner rather than just a one-off order.
In most cases, yes. Trade and fleet conditions are intended for registered companies or self-employed sole traders providing vehicle services. When you contact us for trade terms, we normally ask for your company name and address, VAT number if applicable, and a main contact person. This helps us set up appropriate pricing and support for your profile.
We don’t use one fixed trade discount for everyone. Levels depend on your volume, the mix of parts you buy and whether you are a workshop, fleet operator or reseller. Typically you get a base trade discount on website prices, with better pricing on some fast-moving OEM references and for larger or pallet-sized orders. We’ll discuss your needs and agree a structure that makes sense for both sides.
There is no universal minimum for all customers, but very small or one-off orders normally stay on standard retail pricing. As your volume and frequency of orders increase, we can offer trade pricing and better conditions. Higher discount tiers may require a typical monthly or quarterly spend, or regular pallet-level shipments. If you are unsure whether you qualify, just contact us with a quick overview of your activity.
Serious workshop, fleet and wholesale accounts are assigned a named contact where possible. Your account handler will learn your core brands and models, help with fast part identification and stock checks, coordinate combined orders and pallet shipments, and flag incoming donors relevant to your fleet. Smaller trade customers may not have a formally named manager but will still work with a small, consistent team who know your history.
Yes. For trade and fleet customers we regularly source parts that are not yet online. We can check yard and off-site stock, prioritise removal from current donor vehicles, look for alternative OEM numbers or supersessions, and in some cases speak to trusted partners in the wider breaker network. The more you tell us about your fleet spec and problem parts, the more targeted our sourcing can be.
In many cases we can reserve parts for active trade and fleet customers. We can hold a part while you get approval, keep matching pairs or sets together, or add you to a call-back list when we know a specific truck or spec is about to be dismantled. Reservation time depends on demand and value, so high-value or rare items may only be held for a short window unless a firm order is placed.
Our default payment method is pre-payment via card (Global Payments), bank transfer or marketplace checkout. For established business customers, and subject to checks and trading history, we may offer invoiced terms with a defined credit limit and payment period. These are strictly business-to-business arrangements and sit alongside our standard Terms & Conditions and Trade & Wholesale Buyers policy.
Not necessarily. We try to structure pricing around how you operate: workshops often need variety and speed, fleets may focus on repeated part numbers across similar trucks and predictable costs, and resellers look more at margins on certain OEM references. We can tailor discounts and offers by customer type, volume and product mix instead of using a single trade price for everyone.
Technically the warranty terms on parts are the same for all buyers and are described in our Warranty & Part Condition page: a 30-day warranty on used parts with clear exclusions for ancillaries and misuse. However, pure business-to-business sales are treated differently under UK law, so some consumer cancellation protections do not apply. We also assume trade customers have professional diagnostic and fitting capability and do not cover labour, diagnostics, downtime or indirect losses.
You can order directly on the website once your account is set up with trade pricing, or you can place orders by email or phone. Online you simply log in, add items to your basket, add any PO numbers in the notes and check out as usual. By email or phone you send us OEM numbers, photos and truck details, we confirm availability, pricing and shipping, and then you approve the order and pay via your agreed method or terms.
We use the same core carriers for everyone – mainly Evri, DPD, DHL and pallet networks – but we can be more flexible for trade and fleet customers. That includes consolidating shipments to save costs, combining multiple jobs on one pallet, and coordinating dispatch around your workshop schedule. Our Delivery & Shipping page explains the base options; as a trade partner you simply get more planning and coordination around them.
Yes. If you are rebuilding several similar trucks, refreshing vehicles before resale or planning major conversions, we can plan donors and stock around your project. We can identify suitable donor vehicles, prioritise dismantling of relevant components, set aside related parts as a package and offer combined pricing where you take a group of items together. The earlier you involve us, the easier it is to build a parts plan that fits your timeline.
To get started, just email or call us with your company name, registered address and VAT number if you have one, plus a contact person for parts and a short description of your activity. Tell us which brands and models you mainly run, your rough monthly spend and whether you are most interested in better pricing, faster sourcing, special projects or potential credit terms. We will review your details, propose a trade or fleet setup and confirm the next steps for account and pricing.
